We only use high quality hardware. Primarily, reproduction vintage including a cloth covered twisted wire 18 gauge (18/2) cord with a diameter of 6.5 mm, or about 1/4". The lamps take standard household bulbs. We recommend 13 - 23 watt CFL florescent bulbs available at grocery stores, and use standard 2-prong un-polarized AC plugs.
Each lamp and base are made of wood turned on the wood lathe or carved in the shop. The shades, lamps, and bases are all hand painted or stained. They are then coated with a sturdy polyurethane and Crystal clear coat to resist aging.

Mushroom Cloud & B-29 Bomber Lamp
Three parts stacked on top of each other create the base for this lamp to make the shape of a nuclear bomb mushroom cloud. The bottom piece is burnt with a torch. The top pieces are dye stained with amber, cinnamon and cherry. The frost green silk lampshade contrasts nicely.
In Case of Zombies Lamp
Ash wood lamp, turned in the shape of a baseball bat with antique square cut steal nails hammered into it. Engraved plaque instructs the owner to break the lamp in case of zombies. A torch was taken to the wood to accentuate the grain. It is coated with a sealer so no ash will stain. This lamp does not come with a shade but instead with a vintage style Edison light bulb.
Zombie Apocalypse Nuclear Bomb Lamp
Painted with zombie shadows emerging from a nuclear blast explosion. The base is made of Poplar wood turned on the lathe to look like a bomb and stained with a variety of colors in layers to make an antique finish. The lamp base is poplar wood burnt with a torch and is mounted on brass claw feet corners.
Ash Wood Nuclear Explosion Pinup Girl Lamp
Shade painted with nuclear blast explosion on one side and pin-up girl on the other. The base is made of Ash wood turned on the lathe and stained with a variety of colors in layers to make an antique finish.
Pin-Up Girl Bomb Lamp
Painted shade with a bombshell pinup girl in a nuclear blast explosion. The base is made of Poplar wood turned on the lathe in the shape of a bomb and hand stained and painted.
Hostess Twinkies, Cockroach, Nuclear Bomb Lamp
The shade is painted with Hostess Twinkies on the outside and white cockroach bugs on the inside of the shade that create a shadow of bugs when the light is turned on. The base is made of Poplar wood, hand turned on the lathe and carved to look like a nuclear bomb. The bomb is burnt with a torch and then coated with clear polyurethane. There are also some bugs subtly wood burnt on the side of the bomb. Super cute and gross at the same time!

Keep Calm and Carry On
Hand painted shade with the "Keep Calm and Carry On" motivational saying, first printed on posters by the British government in preparation for the Second World War, on a red/blood splattered background. The base is made of Poplar wood turned on the lathe to look like a baseball bat and stained with amber brown and cinnamon red to make an antique finish.
